Kyle Vasey Accident: Former Penn State Football Player Among Three Struck in Highlands Ranch Crash

The Highlands Ranch, Colorado, community is reeling following a devastating crash that left former Kyle Vasey critically injured, claimed the life of his fiancée, and seriously hurt another pedestrian. The tragic incident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns about roadway safety and repeat offenders driving with suspended or revoked licenses.

According to authorities, the crash occurred on the morning of June 1 in a Highlands Ranch neighborhood when Vasey, 30, and his fiancée, 35-year-old Corinne More, were walking along a sidewalk. A third victim, 72-year-old Dianne Windes, was also struck when a pickup truck veered onto the sidewalk and hit the pedestrians. Investigators say the driver later fled the scene before being apprehended by law enforcement.

More tragically died from injuries sustained in the crash, while Vasey suffered catastrophic injuries requiring extensive medical treatment. Authorities reported that Windes was also hospitalized with serious injuries. The heartbreaking loss has left family members, friends, and community members mourning a life cut short far too soon.

Vasey is well known among Penn State football fans. During his collegiate career, he served as a long snapper for the Penn State Nittany Lions and started every game during the 2017 season. His dedication and work ethic earned him a scholarship under head coach James Franklin. After college, he briefly pursued professional football opportunities, including a stint with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent.

The extent of Vasey’s injuries has shocked many. Reports indicate he sustained multiple fractures throughout his body, including spinal fractures and broken ribs. He has already undergone numerous surgeries and remains on a long road to recovery. Family members revealed that he has been treated in intensive care and faces months, if not years, of rehabilitation.

Authorities identified the driver as 28-year-old Adam Bauserman. Investigators allege he was operating the vehicle despite having a revoked license stemming from prior driving-related offenses. Witnesses reportedly followed the suspect after the collision, allowing deputies to locate and arrest him within a short time. He now faces multiple criminal charges, including vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Douglas County Sheriff officials described the crash scene as horrific and emphasized that investigators continue to examine all circumstances surrounding the incident. While authorities have stated they do not believe the victims knew the driver, questions remain about exactly what led to the deadly collision.

As news of the tragedy spread, support poured in from former teammates, friends, neighbors, and football fans across the country. Fundraising efforts have been launched to help cover Vasey’s mounting medical expenses and assist his family during an unimaginably difficult period. Many continue to offer prayers for his recovery while remembering Corinne More, whose life and future were tragically taken in the crash.
